Sony is one of the better rated camcorder brands according to average reviews from experts and owners, and Sony also has good ratings for its big sensor size video cameras.

Good Size

One Sony FDR-AX1 owner who reviewed it considered that it was thick. Two years ago Videomaker.com wrote “Broad dynamic range, excellent color reproduction” in their review. One Sony FDR-AX1 owner wrote that the product was lightweight.

Reasonably Priced

One Sony FDR-AX1 owner who purchased it mentioned that it was good value for money. Expert review site Photographybay.com wrote three years ago “Is really the first of its kind in bringing affordable 4K to the masses with its lightweight XAVC-S codec” in their review.

Fairly Large Screen Size

With a screen size of 3.5 inches, the Sony FDR-AX1 has a fairly large screen size compared to most of the other video cameras that were launched around the same time as the FDR-AX1.
