Digitalversus.com said in their Sony HDR-CX190 review on expert review site Digital Versus “Beyond the highly affordable price (£200), part of the idea behind buying a budget camcorder such as the Sony HDR-CX190 is the light weight” but even so they gave the product a score of 60 out of 100. Digitalversus.com also wrote “You'd be hard-pressed to find better for this price”.

A number of Sony HDR-CX190 reviewers who reviewed this camcorder agreed that it was a bargain for the price.
