Based on 3,510 expert and user reviews, Sony has good reviews for its camcorders. Sony also has good reviews specifically for its medium sensor size video cameras compared to other manufacturers.

Reasonably Priced

A number of Sony HDR-CX200 owners said in their reviews that it was a bargain for the price. Expert review site Cnet.com wrote four years ago “They're cheap and capture video.” in their review but despite that they only rated it 60 out of 100. Cnet.com also said “Don't buy the Sony Handycam HDR-CX190, CX200 or CX210 thinking that you're getting a great bargain on a real HD camcorder”. Cnet.com.au wrote on CNET.com.au “C 210 are small, lightweight and cheap”.

One person who purchased the product reckoned that it was good value for money. Expert website Cnet.com mentioned “Sony's trio of entry-level camcorders -- the Handycam HDR-CX190, CX200 and CX210 -- seem amazingly, aggressively priced.” yet they only gave it a score of 60 out of 100.

The HDR-CX200 supports an SDXC memory card which is better than the SD memory card supported by most comparable spec camcorders that were launched more than two years ago. This video camera also support Memory Stick (MS), MS PRO Duo and MS Pro-HG Duo and SDHC memory cards. SDXC cards are SD cards but with a much higher capacity and faster processing speeds. They have a maximum capacity of 2TB (Terabytes).

An SDXC memory card is in fact the best supported memory card type across all medium sensor size video cameras that have been around for a similar time to the HDR-CX200.

A MicroSDXC memory card is the worst supported memory card type across similar types of camcorder.

SDHC cards are DS cards with a higher capacity of up to 32GB.
