SD cards are by far the most common type of memory card. They are compatible with the majority of digital cameras.
An SD memory card is in fact the best supported memory card type across all cameras that have been around for a comparable time to the EOS 1D Mark II.
Across similar types of camera the worst supported memory card type is MicroSD (TransFlash).
If the memory card type of this camera is too bad for you then you might also want to look at the DSC-HX200V (MS Duo|MS PRO Duo|MS Pro-HG Duo|SD|SDHC|SDXC and higher rated), or the NEX-3NL (Memory Stick (MS and higher rated)|SD|SDHC|SDXC and higher rated) both from Sony.
