With a megapixel count of 16.1 megapixels, the Coolpix P600 has a pretty typical megapixel count compared to most of the other cameras that have been on the market for more than two years.

We compared all the other 16.1MP cameras to this digital camera and we think the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ72[plb_1983697_price] which has better reviews is also worth considering.

Cameras with a higher megapixel count that might be worth considering include the Kodak Pixpro AZ421[plb_2515884_price] (16.15MP) which is also cheaper.

MOS Sensor Type

The Nikon Coolpix P600 has a better sensor type than most bridge camera digital cameras that are a comparable age to it. This camera has a MOS sensor type, whereas most bridge camera digital cameras that have been available for a comparable time to it have a CCD sensor type.

Other cameras that have a CMOS sensor currently available which you might want to consider include the Fujifilm FinePix S1[plb_2145007_price], or the Nikon Coolpix P530[plb_2240483_price] which has better reviews.

If the sensor type of this camera is not good enough for you then you might also want to consider the Kodak Pixpro AZ421[plb_2515884_price] (CCD and cheaper) or the Fujifilm FinePix SL240[plb_1349973_price] (CCD and higher rated), or the Canon PowerShot SX500 IS[plb_1410250_price] (CCD and higher rated).
