The Lenovo T440 has an SSD storage medium which is better than most medium processor core notebook PCs that are a similar age to it. Most comparable spec portable PCs that were released around the same time as it have an HDD storage medium. Solid State Drives (SSD) store data in semiconductors on a circuit board rather than using magnetic or optical media. Solid State Drives have no moving parts which makes them very fast and reliable.
This laptop's storage medium (SSD) is actually the best storage medium across all notebook PCs that have been around for a similar time to the T440.
An HDD storage medium is the worst storage medium amongst similar types of laptop.
We compared all the other portable PCs that have an SSD storage media to this laptop and we think the HP ProBook 640 (£770.38) which has better reviews; or the Tecra Z40 (£449.99), and the TECRA Z40 (£429.99) both from Toshiba or the Lenovo ThinkPad X240 which is cheaper are also worth considering.
If the storage medium of this notebook PC is not good enough for you then you might want to consider the DELL XPS 13 (SSD).
