The Lenovo Y50 has an SSD storage medium which is better than most notebook PCs of this age and type. Most many processor core portable PCs that have been around for around the same time as it have an HDD storage medium. Solid State Drives (SSD) store data in semiconductors on a circuit board rather than using magnetic or optical media. Solid State Drives have no moving parts which makes them very fast and reliable.
An SSD storage medium is in fact the best storage medium amongst all many processor core portable PCs that were released around the same time as the Y50.
Amongst comparable types of notebook PC the worst storage medium is HDD.
We think you might also be interested in some of the other laptops that have an SSD storage media currently available including a cheaper laptop such as the Precision M4800 (£1,500.33), or the Precision M4800 (£1,500.33) both from DELL or you might consider a higher scoring laptop such as the Pro (£806.00), or the Pro (£806.00) both from HP.
If the storage medium of this many processor core laptop is not good enough for you then you might want to consider the HP Omen (SSD).
