4 Reasons For
DELL Has Good Reviews for Its Flatpanel Monitors
DELL has good average reviews for its medium monitors as well as across its entire PC display range.
LED Display Type
This LCD screen has an LED display type, which is typical of many medium monitors that came out more than two years ago.
There are a number of other PC displays that have an LED Display currently available that you might want to consider including the S24D391 (£127.30), or the S27D590 (£302.51) both from Samsung which has better reviews.
Has Four Cables Included
The DELL 2213 has a greater number of cables included than most comparable spec flatpanel monitors that have been available for around the same time as it. This PC display has an AC cable included, which is the most frequently found cable included found on medium monitors that came out around the same time as the 2213. The cables included "DVI", "USB" and "VGA" are also found on this flatpanel monitor.
The average width of medium monitors that were released around the same time as the 2213 is 580mm, and the widths range from 50mm to 6,500mm. With a width of only 510.4 millimeters, the DELL 2213 is quite narrow compared to most of the other PC screens that were released more than two years ago.
Alternative PC displays with a wider width that you might want to look at include the HP Compaq LA2205 (£121.94) (510.54mm).
7 Reasons Against
Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker
The DELL 2213 does not have a built-in speaker, unlike most of the other medium monitors that have been available for around the same time as the 2213 which have a built-in speaker.
Alternative PC monitors which also have a built-in speaker that you might want to consider include the Philips 231C5 which is also higher rated.
Not 3D Compatible
Like most of the other PC monitors of this age and spec, the DELL 2213 is not 3D compatible.
LCD screens which are 3D compatible that might be worth looking at include the LG 27MT93V, the AOC D2769, or the Benq XL2411T (£199.99) which is also higher rated.
Does Not Have a Built-In Camera
The DELL 2213 does not have a built-in camera, although this is within the context that most of the other medium monitors that were released around the same time as the 2213 also do not have a built-in camera.
It is worth also looking at alternative PC displays which also have a built-in camera including the Apple 27" Cinema Display which is also higher rated.
Does Not Have an Integrated Card Reader
The DELL 2213 does not have an integrated card reader, although keep in mind that most of the other PC screens that are a comparable age to the 2213 also do not have an integrated card reader.
We compared this flatpanel monitor to all the other PC screens with an integrated card reader and we think the U2713H (£399.00), or the UP2414Q (£499.99) both from DELL or the Acer DA220 (£373.92) which is also higher rated is also worth considering.
+4 More reasons against
Only 1680 X 1050 Pixels Display Resolution
The most display resolution of the DELL 2213 is 1680 x 1050 pixels. That's 15% less display resolution than the most frequently found display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Across all PC monitors that have been available for more than two years the worst display resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels and the best is 2560 x 1600 pixels.
Quite Small Viewable Width
The viewable widths of PC screens of this age and spec range from 1mm to 880mm, and the average viewable width is 520mm. With a viewable width of only 473.8 millimeters, the DELL 2213 has a quite small viewable width compared to most of the other medium monitors that were released around the same time as the 2213.
Quite Narrow Vertical Viewing Angle
The narrowest vertical viewing angle of comparable spec PC screens that were launched more than two years ago is 50°, the widest is 180°, and the average vertical viewing angle is 170°. At only 160 degrees, the DELL 2213 has a fairly narrow vertical viewing angle compared to most of the other PC displays of this age and type.
