Asus Computers Have Good Reviews
Medium processor core personal computers built by Asus have good ratings on average compared to other manufacturers. We also checked the reviews for all PCs (not just medium processor core personal computers) and found that Asus also has good ratings across its entire range.
Flash Storage Medium
The Asus CHROMEBIT has a Flash storage medium which is faster than the HDD storage medium found on most personal computers that are a comparable age to it. Flash Drives store information in transistors on a circuit board rather than on optical or magnetic media. This has the advantage of being much faster than a traditional HDD drive. The best storage speed of all desktop computers of a similar age and type to the CHROMEBIT is SSD and the worst is HDD.
We compared this personal computer to all the other Flash desktop computers and we think the MeLE PCG09[plb_2970011_price], and the Zotac ZBOX PI320[plb_3151266_price] which has better reviews is also worth considering.
If the storage speed of this computer is too slow for you then you might also want to look at the Zotac ZBOX CI320 nano[plb_2496885_price] (SSD), or the HP 800 G1[plb_2777604_price] (SSD) which also has a higher rating.
The average width of personal computers of a comparable type and age to the CHROMEBIT is 180mm. At only 123 millimeters, the Asus CHROMEBIT is quite narrow compared to most of the other PCs of a similar age and type to the CHROMEBIT.
With a weight of only 75 grams, the Asus CHROMEBIT is very light compared to most of the other computers of this spec and age. The lightest desktop computer of a similar spec and age to the CHROMEBIT is 38g heavy, the heaviest is 100kg, and the average weight is 7.5kg.
Medium processor core personal computers that were launched more than a year ago have heights of between 9.8mm and 560mm. The CHROMEBIT is very short (only 17 millimeters) compared to most of the other comparable spec desktop computers that have been around for around the same time as the CHROMEBIT.
Computers of this spec and age have depths of between 31mm and 590mm, and the average depth is 350mm. The depth of the Asus CHROMEBIT of only 31 millimeters is one of the shallowest amongst medium processor core personal computers that have been around for around the same time as the CHROMEBIT.
4 Reasons Against
Quite Small Total Storage Capacity
When compared to other similar spec personal computers that were launched around the same time as the CHROMEBIT that we have assessed, the total storage capacity of the CHROMEBIT of only 16 gigabytes is one of the smallest. The smallest total storage capacity of desktop computers of a comparable age and type to the CHROMEBIT is 4GB and the biggest is 3.6TB.
If you would prefer a desktop computer with a bigger total storage capacity then you might want to look at the Lenovo Thinkstation P500[plb_3209708_price] (1.3TB and higher rated), or the DELL 8900[plb_3251718_price] (2TB and higher rated).
Quite Small Internal Memory
Personal computers of this age and spec have internal memory of between 2GB and 64GB, and the average internal memory is 8.3GB. The CHROMEBIT has a very small internal memory (only 2 gigabytes) compared to most of the other similar spec computers that came out around the same time as the CHROMEBIT.
There are a number of other 2GB memory PCs currently available that you might also want to look at including the ZBOX CI320 nano[pl_2496885_price], or the ZBOX PI320[pl_3151266_price] both from Zotac or the MeLE PCG09[plb_2970011_price] which has better reviews.
If this computer internal memory is not big enough for you then you might want to look at the Lenovo Thinkstation P500[plb_3209708_price] (8GB), or the DELL 8900[plb_3251718_price] (32GB) which also has a higher rating.
Quite Slow Memory Clock Speed
When compared to other PCs that have been on the market for around the same time as the CHROMEBIT that we have assessed, the memory clock speed of the CHROMEBIT of only 1,066 megahertz is one of the slowest. Medium processor core personal computers that have been around for a comparable time to the CHROMEBIT have memory clock speeds of between 1,000MHz and 2,400MHz, and the average memory clock speed is 1,800MHz.
Only One USB 2.0 Port
Most medium processor core personal computers that were released more than a year ago have between one and nine USB 2.0 ports, including the CHROMEBIT which has one USB 2.0 port.
