3 Reasons Against

Only HDD Storage Medium

The storage speed of this computer is HDD, which is the most frequently found storage medium on desktop computers of a similar age and spec to it. A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is the traditional storage method for computers. A HDD stores the information on magnetic disks. HDD drives are cheap, but they are slower than Flash and SSD bases storage systems.

We compared this personal computer to all the other HDD personal computers and we think the EliteDesk 800 G1 (£489.60), and the EliteDesk 800 G1 (£522.00) both from HP or the DELL OptiPlex 9020 which is cheaper is also worth considering.

If the storage speed of this DELL personal computer is too slow for you then you might want to consider the EliteDesk 800 G1 (SSD and cheaper), or the EliteDesk 800 G1 (£387.66) (SSD and cheaper) both from HP or the DELL OptiPlex 9020 (£526.80) (SSD and cheaper).

User Reviews

(1)
Reviewed 3 February 2015 by Michael S.
(Verified Purchase)

I own an older Dell Optiplex computer, and it's been rock solid for about 8 years, so that weighed heavily in my decision...

I selected this machine for a couple of reasons. I wanted Win 7 Pro because of its XP mode so I can continue to use an older, very expensive scanner, and I needed a legacy PCI slot
I recently helped a non-tech-savvy person set up a "store bought" PC from another manufacturer, and I was literally appalled at the amount of junkware that was pre-installed on that computer. One item
This Dell arrived with ZERO junkware on it. That made setting it up a pleasure instead of an ordeal
I'm not a power user, and I'm not a gamer, I just wanted a good solid reliable machine for my home business and for my personal use. This one fits the bill nicely
The machine arrived with a bad CDDVD drive, but Dell sent me a replacement quickly with zero hassle
I also found the Dell website somewhat lacking as it made it difficult to find detailed technical specs on their products
