5 Reasons For

Running Costs Are Very Low

The X123 has an average running cost of only £76 over 1 year based on average energy prices and usage levels, which makes it one of the cheapest to run 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that came out more than two years ago.

Good Brand

Acer 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors have good ratings on average and across all multimedia projectors Acer is one of the better rated brands.

Supports 3D Image Projection

Like most of the other 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were released more than two years ago, the Acer X123 supports 3D image projection.

We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative multimedia projectors which support 3D image projection currently available including the Benq MX819ST (£301.60), or the Optoma DS325 (£281.64) which has better reviews; or the Benq MS502 (£270.88) which is cheaper.

Quite Quiet Noise Level

Across all the 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been on the market for around the same time as the X123 the noise levels range from 26dB to 40dB. With a noise level of only 31 decibels, the Acer X123 has a fairly quiet noise level compared to most of the other 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been available for a comparable time to the X123.

We compared this projector to all the other 31dB noise level multimedia projectors and we think the Acer X113 (£247.08) which is cheaper is also worth considering.

If you are not worried about having a louder noise level then you might want to look at the MX819ST (£301.60) (32dB), or the TW523 (£345.96) (32dB) both from Benq which is also higher rated.

Fairly Long Lamp Service Life

The lamp service lives of 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been on the market for around the same time as the X123 range from 2,500h to 20,000h. The Acer X123 has a quite long lamp service life (5,000 hours) compared to most of the other 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were launched around the same time as the X123.

4 Reasons Against

Price Increase of £35.02

In the last few weeks the price of the X123 has increased by £35.02.

Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker

Most of the other comparable spec multimedia projectors that came out more than two years ago have a built-in speaker, however the Acer X123 does not have a built-in speaker.

We compared this data projector to all the other multimedia projectors with a built-in speaker and we think the Benq MS502 (£270.88) or the Benq MX819ST (£301.60), or the Optoma DX325 (£310.14) are also worth considering.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

The Acer X123 does not support Full HD projection, although this is within the context that most of the other data projectors of a comparable spec and age to the X123 also do not support Full HD projection.

It is worth also looking at alternative multimedia projectors which also support Full HD projection including the Acer X113 (£247.08); or the Benq MX819ST (£301.60).
