Two years ago Pcmag.com gave the product a rating of 80 out of 100 and wrote in their review on expert review site PC Mag “The Epson EX6220 WXGA 3LCD Projector delivers a bright image, excellent quality for data images”. Pcmag.com also mentioned “Better video quality than most data projectors”.

Reasonably Priced

One Epson EX6220 owner who purchased it thought it was good value for money. Expert website Projectorcentral.com gave the product a score of 5 stars and said in their review of this projector “If you're looking for a low cost 1280x800 projector, whether for permanent installation in a small to mid-size room or to use as a portable”.

Supports 3D Image Projection

The Epson EX6220 supports 3D image projection, unlike most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were launched more than two years ago which do not support 3D image projection.

We compared all the other data projectors which support 3D image projection to this projector and we think the GP10, and the W1500 both from Benq or the Optoma ML550 (£434.94) which has better reviews is also worth considering.

The Epson EX6220 has a built-in speaker. Most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were launched more than two years ago also have a built-in speaker.

We compared all the other projectors with a built-in speaker to this projector and we think the Benq GP10 which has better reviews is also worth considering.

1440 X 1050 Graphics Resolution

The highest resolution supported by the Epson EX6220 is 1440 x 1050. That's over four times the resolution of the most common graphics resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA) (which is also supported by this projector). This Epson data projector also support graphics resolutions of 1024 x 768 (XGA) and 1152 x 864 (XGA+) and 1440 x 900 (WXGA+). The worst resolution of all comparable spec data projectors that were launched around the same time as the EX6220 is 640 x 480 (VGA) and the best is 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA).

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

The Epson EX6220 does not support Full HD projection. Most of the other multimedia projectors of this age and spec also do not support Full HD projection.

There are a number of other projectors which also support Full HD projection that you might want to look at including the NEC NP-M282, or the Benq W1500 which also has a higher rating.

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

The Epson EX6220 does not support WiFi connectivity, although keep in mind that most of the other multimedia projectors of a similar age and spec to the EX6220 also do not support WiFi connectivity.

Alternative data projectors which also support WiFi connectivity that you might also want to consider include the Benq W1500 which is also higher rated.

Other 37dB noise level projectors currently available which you might want to look at include the EB-X24 (£489.56), or the EB-W18 both from Epson which has better reviews.
