The Epson PowerLite X17 supports a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 (UXGA). That's over six times the resolution of a 640 x 480 (VGA) projector, which is the most common resolution supported by projectors that have been around for a similar time to the PowerLite X17. 640 x 480 (VGA) is also supported by this data projector. In addition, this multimedia projector support graphics resolutions of 1280 x 800, 1280 x 960, 1280 x 1024 (SXGA), 1280 x 800 (WXGA), 1366 х 768, 1400 x 1050 (SXGA+) and 1440 x 900 (WXGA+) and 800 x 600 (SVGA). Across all 10000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been on the market for a comparable time to the PowerLite X17 the worst resolution is 640 x 480 (VGA) and the best is 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA).

Three Audio in Ports

The Epson PowerLite X17 has more audio in ports than most of the 10000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been around for more than two years. Most of the 10000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were released more than two years ago only have between one and two audio in ports, however this Epson projector has three audio in ports.

The PowerLite X17 does not support 3D image projection, although keep in mind that most of the other data projectors of a comparable age and spec to the PowerLite X17 also do not support 3D image projection.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

The PowerLite X17 does not support Full HD projection, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other projectors of a comparable type and age to the PowerLite X17 also do not support Full HD projection.

It is worth considering other projectors which also support Full HD projection including the Acer X1311[plb_1374828_price], the Panasonic PT-DZ13[plb_2000154_price], or the Epson 1975W[plb_3009713_price].

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

The PowerLite X17 does not support WiFi connectivity, although this is within the context that most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio projectors that are a similar age to the PowerLite X17 also do not support WiFi connectivity.

We compared this projector to all the other projectors with a WiFi connectivity and we think the PowerLite 1222[pl_2225031_price], or the EB-X03[pl_2263795_price] both from Epson or the Benq W1500[plb_1561671_price] which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

Quite Dim Projector Brightness

With a projector brightness of only 2,700 ANSI lumens, the PowerLite X17 has one of the dimmer projector brightness amongst 10000:1 contrast ratio projectors of this age. The projector brightness of similar spec data projectors that have been around for more than two years range from 300 ANSI lumens to 12,000 ANSI lumens.

It may also be worth considering one of the other 2,700 ANSI lumens brightness multimedia projectors currently available including the X111[pl_1569768_price], or the X1340[pl_1563541_price] both from Acer or the Epson PowerLite 97[plb_2225046_price] which has better reviews.

If you would prefer a projector with a brighter projector brightness then you might also want to consider the PT-LB280E[pl_3122603_price] (2,800 ANSI lumens), or the PT-TW250[pl_2404089_price] (2,800 ANSI lumens) both from Panasonic or the NEC NP-M282[plb_2338575_price] (2,800 ANSI lumens) which is also higher rated.
