11 Reasons For

Running Costs Are Low

The average running cost of the W290 is only £86 over 1 year based on average energy prices, which is in the cheapest 16% of all 38 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that are one year old.

Good Brand

On average Optoma 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors have good reviews compared to other brands as do all data projectors manufactured by Optoma.

Supports 3D Image Projection

Most of the other 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been around for more than a year support 3D image projection, including the Optoma W290.

We compared all the other multimedia projectors which support 3D image projection to this multimedia projector and we think a higher rated product such as the MX600[pl_2024731_price], and the MX823[pl_2330637_price] both from Benq or the Optoma DW326[plb_2132606_price] are also worth considering.

1600 X 1200 (UXGA) Graphics Resolution

The highest resolution supported by the Optoma W290 is 1600 x 1200 (UXGA). That's over six times the resolution of the most frequently found graphics resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA) (which is also supported by this Optoma projector). In addition, this projector support graphics resolutions of 1024 x 768 (XGA) and 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) and 800 x 600 (SVGA).

This data projector's resolution (1600 x 1200 (UXGA)) is in fact the best supported resolution across all 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been available for a similar time to the W290.

A 640 x 480 (VGA) graphics resolution is the worst supported resolution across similar types of data projector.

It is worth considering other data projectors that support graphics resolutions of 1024 x 768 (XGA), 1280 x 1024 (SXGA), 1600 x 1200 (UXGA), 640 x 480 (VGA) and 800 x 600 (SVGA) including a higher rated product such as the Optoma DX325[plb_1915714_price].

If the resolution of this data projector is too low for you then you might want to consider the Benq MS521[plb_2022874_price] (800 x 600 (SVGA and higher rated),1600 x 1200 (UXGA and higher rated),640 x 480 (VGA and higher rated) and higher rated).

The worst resolution across similar types of projector is SVGA (800x600).

It is worth also looking at other multimedia projectors that have a resolution of WXGA (1280x800) including the MW769[pl_2298075_price], the [pl_2290217], or the MW824[pl_2330433_price] all from Benq which have a better Kagoo Rating™.
