9 Reasons For
Expert Reviews Are Average
This Optoma data projector has an average expert rating of 73 out of 100 based on three expert reviews from sites including PC Mag, projectorcentral.com and IT Reviews.com.
Optoma Has Good Reviews for Its Projectors
Optoma is one of the superior projector manufacturers according to average reviews from owners and experts, and Optoma also has good ratings for its multimedia projectors.
One customer wrote in their reviews that the product was cheap. expert review site Itreviews.com wrote “Not much more expensive, the” in their review.
100 - 240V AC Input Voltage
This projector has a 100 - 240V AC input voltage, which is the most frequently found AC input voltage on projectors that have been around for a similar time to it.
Has a Built-In Speaker
The Optoma W304M has a built-in speaker, unlike most of the other data projectors that are a comparable age to the W304M which do not have a built-in speaker.
We compared this projector to all the other projectors with a built-in speaker and we think because of it's better review score, the Viewsonic PJD6544W (£439.00), the Optoma EH200ST (£626.57), and the Epson EB-1930 (£540.90) is also worth considering.
Supports 3D Image Projection
The Optoma W304M supports 3D image projection, which is unusual. Most of the other projectors of a similar age and type to the W304M do not support 3D image projection.
It may also be worth also looking at one of the other data projectors which support 3D image projection currently available including the EH200ST (£626.57), or the HD25e both from Optoma or the Epson EB-1930 (£540.90) which has a better Rating.
+4 More reasons for
1920 X 1200 Pixels Maximum Digital Resolution
This projector has a maximum digital resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, which is typical of many similar spec data projectors that have been available for more than two years.
With a weight of only 1.5 kilograms, the Optoma W304M is quite light compared to most of the other data projectors of this spec and age. The lightest multimedia projector of this age and type is 470g heavy and the heaviest is 20kg.
The average width of data projectors that have been available for more than two years is 380mm. With a width of only 220 millimeters, the Optoma W304M is one of the narrower multimedia projectors that were released more than two years ago amongst multimedia projectors of this age.
5 Reasons Against
Not Good in Terms of Size
Some people who purchased it agreed that it was not heavy and bulky. Expert review site Pcmag.com said three years ago “Less than a pound heavier th” in their review although still rated the product 4 stars.
£54.67 Price Increase
In the last 53 days the price of the W304M has increased by £54.67.
Does Not Support Full HD Projection
Most projectors of this spec and age do not support Full HD projection. The Optoma W304M is no exception to this as it too does not support Full HD projection.
We compared all the other projectors which also support Full HD projection to this projector and we think the EH200ST (£626.57), or the HD25e both from Optoma or the Acer H9500BD which also has a higher Rating is also worth considering.
Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity
The Optoma W304M does not support WiFi connectivity. Most of the other comparable spec projectors that have been around for more than two years also do not support WiFi connectivity.
Other data projectors which also support WiFi connectivity that you might want to consider include the Optoma W305ST (£527.62), or the LG PW700 (£413.03) which also has a higher Rating.
+2 More reasons against
Quite Low RMS Rated Power
The average RMS rated power of multimedia projectors that came out more than two years ago is 10W. With an RMS rated power of only 1 Watt, the Optoma W304M has one of the lower RMS rated power amongst comparable spec multimedia projectors of this age.

Average Running Costs

Released Over Three Years Ago
This projector was released over three years ago.
WXGA (1280x800) Native Projector Resolution
The Optoma W304M has a maximum resolution of WXGA (1280x800). That's 51% less resolution than the most frequently found native projector resolution of 1080p (1920x1080).
We think you might also be interested in some of the other data projectors that have a resolution of WXGA (1280x800) currently available including because of it's better review score, the PW700 (£413.03), or the PA1000 (£600.56) both from LG or the Optoma W305ST (£527.62).
If the resolution of this Optoma projector is too low for you then you might also want to consider the EH200ST (£626.57) (1080p (1920x1080)), the HD25e (1080p (1920x1080)), or the GT1080 (£590.00) (1080p (1920x1080)) all from Optoma which is also higher rated.
