A Bit Expensive

Five people considered that this vacuum cleaner was not cheap. Pcmag.com mentioned on expert review site PC Mag “Upholstery-cleaning power to the performance offered by the slightly less expensive DC59 Animal” in their review of the Dyson DC59. Trustedreviews.com said on Trusted Reviews “It is expensive, very expensive in fact.”. Two years ago Mashable.com wrote in their review of the Dyson DC59 “Dyson, after all, is the UK-based manufacturer on a seemingly unending quest to discover better, more expensive ways to move air”.

Three people who reviewed the product thought it was not good value for money. Expert review site Gadgetshow.channel5.com mentioned in their review of this vacuum cleaner “It’s got a heavy price at £349 - can it make it out on top in our round-up test though? Hit play on the video above to find out!” however despite that they scored the product 4 stars. Expert review site Techspective.net wrote two years ago “It's pricey and has a few issues that make me question whether it's worth that much money” in their review nonetheless they gave the product a rating of 70 out of 100.

The Dyson DC59 does not have a brush tool. Most of the other vacuum cleaners of this spec and age also do not have a brush tool.

We think this Dyson vacuum cleaner looks expensive compared to other similar spec vacuums that have been on the market for more than two years. The cheapeast vacuum of this age and spec that we found costs £51 and the most expensive costs £475.

Not Cordless

Most vacuum cleaners of a similar age and spec to the DC59 are not cordless. The Dyson DC59 is no exception to this as it too is not cordless.

Vacuum cleaners that have been available for around the same time as the DC59 have dust capacities of between 0.3L and 100L, and the average dust capacity is 3.5L. The Dyson DC59 has a fairly small dust capacity (only 0.4 liters) compared to most of the other comparable spec vacuum cleaners that were launched around the same time as the DC59.
