Does Not Have a Motion Detector

Most comparable spec webcams that have been around for a similar time to the Broadcaster do not have a motion detector. The Logitech Broadcaster is no exception to this as it too does not have a motion detector.

The Broadcaster does not feature face tracking. Most of the other low megapixel count webcams that were released more than two years ago also do not feature face tracking.

Other webcams which also feature face tracking that you might want to consider include the Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000, the Thrustmaster Optical Glass, or the Sweex WC350 which also has a higher rating.

Not Mac Compatible

The Broadcaster is not Mac compatible. Most of the other webcams of a similar age and spec to the Broadcaster are also not Mac compatible.

If you would prefer a webcam that is Mac compatible then you might also want to look at the C300, or the C120 (£17.94) both from Logitech or the Creative Labs inPerson Live Connect HD.

Only Wi-Fi Interface

The Broadcaster has a Wi-Fi interface which is better than most low megapixel count webcams that have been on the market for around the same time as it. Most low megapixel count webcams that were released more than two years ago have a USB interface.

A Wi-Fi interface is actually the worst interface across all webcams of this age and spec.

Across similar types of webcam the best interface is USB 2.

The Broadcaster does not have a snapshot button. Most of the other similar spec webcams that are a comparable age to the Broadcaster also do not have a snapshot button.

We think you might also be interested in other webcams which also have a snapshot button including the C250, or the C600 both from Logitech or the Tracer Gizmo which is also higher rated.

The Broadcaster does not have a night mode, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other low megapixel count webcams that were launched more than two years ago also do not have a night mode.
