JVC Has Good Camcorder Reviews

Video cameras manufactured by JVC generally have good ratings compared to other brands.

Lens System

Fairly Big Optical Zoom

The JVC GZ-RX115 has a fairly big optical zoom (40 times zoom factor) compared to most of the other medium total megapixels camcorders that were released more than two years ago. The smallest optical zoom of similar spec camcorders that are a comparable age to this video camera is 1x and the biggest is 60x.

We compared all the other 40x (optical) camcorders to this camcorder and we think because of it's better review score, the GZ-R10, and the GZ-R15 both from JVC is also worth considering.

Has an Image Stabilizer

The GZ-RX115 has an image stabilizer. Most of the other medium total megapixels camcorders that have been around for around the same time as this video camera also have an image stabilizer.

We compared this video camera to all the other camcorders with an image stabilizer and we think because of it's better review score, the Canon Vixia HF S30, the Sony HDR-PJ330, and the Toshiba Camileo P25 is also worth considering.

Average Digital Zoom

At 100 times zoom factor, the JVC GZ-RX115 has a fairly standard digital zoom compared to most of the other video cameras of this age and spec.

We think you might also be interested in some of the other 100x (digital) video cameras currently available including the JVC GZ-R10 which has better reviews.

If this medium total megapixels video camera digital zoom is not big enough for you then you might also want to consider the HDR-CX240 (320x), the PJ440 (350x), or the PJ670 (350x) all from Sony which is also higher rated.

Ports & Interfaces

Supports HDMI

supports HDMI

The GZ-RX115 supports HDMI, as do most of the other medium total megapixels camcorders that came out more than two years ago.

We compared all the other camcorders which support HDMI to this camcorder and we think the Vixia HF S30, and the EOS C500 both from Canon or the Sony HDR-CX330 which has better reviews is also worth considering.
