10 Reasons Against for Choosing the VTech Kidizoom Touch

Heavier

The VTech Kidizoom Touch is a 350 digital camera. That's 40g lighter than the Fujifilm Square SQ20 (390g), 10g heavier than the Kodak Mini Shot (340g), 33g lighter than the LG PC389S (383g) and 31g lighter than the Polaroid Snap (381g). More ...

The camera's weight will depend on the type and size of camera. Compact cameras are usually the lightest while digital SLRs will be heavier. Also consider the number and weight of lenses to take when using a SLR.

The lower the camera weight, the easier it will be to carry around and it will also reduce your hand luggage weight when flying.

Vastly Lower Megapixels

The VTech Kidizoom Touch has a megapixels of 2, however the Fujifilm Square SQ20 is a 3.7MP digital camera (1.7MP higher), the Kodak Mini Shot and the Polaroid Snap are both 10MP digital cameras (8MP higher) and the LG PC389S is a 5MP digital camera (3MP higher). More ...

The resolution of the images a digital camera produces is measured in megapixels (MP). One megapixel is equal to 1 million pixels and is a result of the pixel width multiplied by the pixel height of the image. While a higher image resolution generally results in sharper images, only a relatively low megapixel count is required when printing the image at a small size or to display it on a computer screen.

A sensor with more megapixels will be able to capture more detailed photos and the image will appear sharper. Images with more megapixels can also be printed at a larger size.

27 Times Lower Video Resolution

The VTech Kidizoom Touch has a maximum video resolution of 320 x 240 pixels pixels, which is 27 times lower video resolution as the Polaroid Snap (1920 x 1080 (Full HD) pixels). More ...

'Maximum video resolution' measures the largest possible video that the digital camera is able to record.

A larger video resolution means the camera can shoot videos that will be sharper, more detailed and have more clarity.

15% Smaller Display Diagonal

The VTech Kidizoom Touch has a display diagonal of 3, however the Fujifilm Square SQ20 is a 2.7" screen digital camera (0.3" smaller), the Kodak Mini Shot is a 1.77" screen digital camera (1.23" smaller) and the Polaroid Snap is a 3.5" screen digital camera (0.5" larger). More ...

The display diagonal is the size the size of the screen integrated in to the back of the camera. A larger display diagonal makes it easier to see if a shot has turned out as intended. Pocket cameras have smaller display diagonals as full size digital SLRs.

A larger display diagonal makes it easier to take photos and to see if a shot has turned out as intended.

Worse Kagoo Score

The VTech Kidizoom Touch has only received a Kagoo Score of 60, but the Fujifilm Square SQ20 scored 76, the Kodak Mini Shot scored 77, the LG PC389S scored 62 and the Polaroid Snap scored 81.

£222 More Expensive

The VTech Kidizoom Touch is more expensive than the Fujifilm Square SQ20 by £54, more expensive than the Kodak Mini Shot by £199, more expensive than the LG PC389S by £125 and more expensive than the Polaroid Snap by £222.

Not As Many Stockists

Only 1 seller sell the VTech Kidizoom Touch, however 7 shops sell the Kodak Mini Shot and 12 retailers sell the Polaroid Snap. More ...

Smaller numbers of stores reduces the chances of this digital camera remaining in stock and also reduces the price competition amongst retailers for the product.
Over Four Years Older

The VTech Kidizoom Touch is older than the Fujifilm Square SQ20 by five years, older than the Kodak Mini Shot by three years, older than the LG PC389S by three years and older than the Polaroid Snap by three years.

Worse Brand

VTech digital cameras have an average rating of only 57.3%, however Fujifilm has an average rating of 88.1%, Kodak has an average rating of 85.8% and Polaroid has an average rating of 84%.

Worse for Landscape Photography

The VTech Kidizoom Touch is worse for landscape photography than the Kodak Mini Shot and Polaroid Snap. More ...

When ranking cameras for their ability to photograph landscapes, we’ve concentrated on a number of key attributes. The most important of these is optical zoom capability, since it allows you to take detailed photos of particular parts of the landscape from a long way away and still have them come out in good detail. Weight and battery life are also very important, since you may be carrying your camera with your for a long time while walking around - you want it to be light enough to not be a hassle, and with a good strong battery, so it doesn’t run out of juice mid-way through the trip! Finally we have taken into account several important factors, such as environmental protection (especially water and dust resistance) and whether the camera comes with GPS, in order to pin-point exactly where you took the photo for later reference.

The cheapest price that we could find for the Kidizoom Touch in the UK is £273.56 but in total we found only 1 price for it.

5 Reasons For for Choosing the Kodak Mini Shot

13% Lighter

The Kodak Mini Shot has a weight of 340, however the Fujifilm Square SQ20 is a 390g digital camera (50g heavier), the LG PC389S is a 383g digital camera (43g heavier), the Polaroid Snap is a 381g digital camera (41g heavier) and the VTech Kidizoom Touch is a 350g digital camera (10g heavier).

Higher Megapixels

The Kodak Mini Shot is a 10 digital camera, and so does the Polaroid Snap. That's 6.3MP higher than the Fujifilm Square SQ20 (3.7MP), 5MP higher than the LG PC389S (5MP) and 8MP higher than the VTech Kidizoom Touch (2MP).

Twice As High Image Resolution

The Kodak Mini Shot has a maximum image resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels pixels, however the LG PC389S only has a maximum image resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. We do not know what type of maximum image resolution the Polaroid Snap and the VTech Kidizoom Touch have. More ...

Image resolution refers to the amount of pixels that make up an photo taken on a digital camera. It is measured as the width x the height of the image - so a 1280 x 720 resolution camera can take a photo that is 1280 pixels wide and 720 pixels tall.

Higher image resolutions mean that the photos are comprised of more pixels, which translate to more detailed and higher quality photos. Also, because they are larger photos, they can be displayed on larger screens or printed out at vastly increased sizes without losing detail.

Bluetooth

The Kodak Mini Shot features bluetooth (as do the LG PC389S and the Polaroid Snap), however the Fujifilm Square SQ20 and the VTech Kidizoom Touch do not feature this benefit. More ...

Bluetooth is a communication standard used to wirelessly transfer data between devices. In a digital camera, it is used to send photos between the camera and mobile phones and tablets, or to control external peripherals (such as flashes).

Bluetooth is a necessity to use certain modern camera peripherals, so without this tech you will be limited with what extras you can use.

Built-in Flash

The Kodak Mini Shot has a built-in flash, and so does the Fujifilm Square SQ20, but the LG PC389S, the Polaroid Snap and the VTech Kidizoom Touch do not. More ...

Cameras with a built in flash illuminate the subject in low light conditions. A flash can also be used to place more emphasis on the foreground or lighten dark shadows.

Cameras with a built in flash can take pictures in low light conditions. Since no external flash is required, cameras with a built in flash are smaller and easier to carry.

11 Reasons Against for Choosing the Kodak Mini Shot

50% Smaller Display Diagonal

Kodak Mini Shot is only 1.77 screen. That's 0.93" smaller than the Fujifilm Square SQ20 (2.7") and 1.23" smaller than the Polaroid Snap and the VTech Kidizoom Touch (3").

Only 20 Battery Life

The Kodak Mini Shot takes 20 battery life, however the LG PC389S only takes 30 battery life and the Polaroid Snap only takes 60 battery life. More ...

We do not know the number of battery life taken by the Fujifilm Square SQ20 or the VTech Kidizoom Touch. It is possible that they do not take any battery life.

The number of shots per battery charge is the number of photos that the camera will typically take on a single charge of the battery.

More shots per battery charge means you will have to recharge the battery less frequently and reduces the need to carry a second back up battery.

Does Not Support Wi-Fi

The Kodak Mini Shot does not support Wi-Fi (As does the the LG PC389S), however the Fujifilm Square SQ20, the Polaroid Snap and the VTech Kidizoom Touch do. More ...

WiFi connectivity allows you upload photos to your computer and the internet without connecting the camera to the computer with a cable.

WiFi connectivity makes it easier to upload your photos as you will not need a cable. Most cameras will also allow you to print photos via Wifi.

The Kodak Mini Shot is £23 more expensive than the Polaroid Snap.
