High megapixel cameras that have been on the market for more than two years have digital zooms of between 2x and 810x. At only 2 times zoom factor, the Nikon Coolpix L340 has a quite small digital zoom compared to most of the other comparable spec digital cameras that were released more than two years ago.
It may also be worth considering one of the other 2x digital zoom cameras currently available including the Samsung NX1100 (£289.99) which has better reviews.
Cameras with a bigger digital zoom that might be worth considering include the Canon IXUS 275 HS (4x) which also has a higher rating.
