Good Quality Pictures

Several Sigma DP3 Merrill owners concluded that it was able to produce good images. Three years ago Barclay mentioned “Absolutely stunning images even close in”. Barclay also said “Ignore the critics who are used to Lightroom this software is just as good and images exported as 16bit tiffs can then be worked on in Photoshop”. Three years ago Jacquim9990 said on Amazon “Gee whiz! Mind blowing images!” in their review of this digital camera.

Several Sigma DP3 Merrill owners mentioned in their reviews that it had a good image sensor. Sid mentioned in his review “What you get in return is IQ to die for! The combination of superb lens and foveon sensor result in the sort of images I have always dreamed of”. Expert website Luminous-Landscape.com mentioned in their review of this digital camera four years ago “A mix between view cameras, great sensor and great lenses” .

Good Product Quality

Eleven Sigma DP3 Merrill reviewers who bought it agreed that it was good quality. Absolutespirit said on Amazon three years ago “Great image quality within its limits.” however despite that they scored it 3 stars. Four years ago Chriss mentioned “For a select group of photographers who look for ultimate image quality in a fixed medium telephoto range with some close focussing ability” in their Sigma DP3 Merrill review. Sid said on Amazon “This is not your typical consumer camera instead it is one seriously superb camera that delivers the most amazing image quality”.

Good Size

Some people mentioned that it was compact. Four years ago Sid wrote “Medium format IQ in a compact camera” in his review. Sid also wrote “All this in an easily carried compact camera.I have been using top spec Canon equipment for most of my adult life”. Expert review site Pcmag.com said in their review of this digital camera “The DP3 Merrill ($999 direct) is the most recent entry into the Sigma's DP family of compact cameras” and gave it a score of 4 stars.

Difficult to Use

One customer who bought the Sigma DP3 Merrill considered that it was not easy to handle. Barclay said “You can still shoot while it's doing that and handling is no different from many other compacts” in their review of the Sigma DP3 Merrill.

One person who bought the product considered that it was not easy to use. Trev-R gave it a rating of 60 out of 100 and mentioned in their review three years ago “Difficult to use and either brilliant or terrible results”.
