Nice Design

Four Benq BL902 reviewers mentioned in their reviews that it was retro. Duncan Woodward wrote this month “It's a good deal, especially if you're looking for a modern monitor for a retro computer or console” in his review of this PC monitor. In October last year P. Skidmore rated it as very good and said “Perfect for retro gaming”. This month Paul Vernon said on Amazon “Awesome for Retro Acorn Archimedes computers!” and gave this PC monitor an excellent review score.

Easy to Use

One Benq BL902 reviewer considered that it was easy to setup. Sully mentioned on Amazon two years ago “The monitor itself couldn't have been easier to set up, came well protected”.

Poor Product Quality

Two Benq BL902 reviewers who reviewed it considered that it was not good quality. Duncan Woodward wrote on Amazon in October this year “Whilst not the best quality picture” in his review of this PC monitor nonetheless he rated the product 4 stars. Ejr rated it 60 out of 100 and said “Inadequate image quality and hard to adjust” in their Benq BL902 review.


Reasonably Priced

Some Benq BL902 reviewers who purchased this PC monitor reckoned that it was a bargain for the price. In October last year Des said “Feels just as cheap as you might suspect.”. A few weeks ago Duncan Woodward said on Amazon “A cheap monitor with a trick up it's sleeve”. Duncan Woodward also said “The general build quality is a bit cheap feeling”.


We think this LCD screen looks expensive compared to other small monitors that have been around for more than two years. The cheapeast PC display of a comparable age and spec that we found costs £46 and the most expensive costs £1,114.

The Benq BL902 has a built-in speaker(s), which is unusual. Most of the other small monitors that have been around for a similar time to this PC monitor do not have a built-in speaker(s).

It may also be worth also looking at one of the alternative PC monitors with a built-in speaker(s) currently available including the Viewsonic VG939 (£133.17), or the Asus VB199 (£127.98) which is cheaper.

There are a number of other LCD screens which also have a built-in speaker(s) that you might want to look at including the iiyama B1780SD (£134.72).
