It may also be worth also looking at one of the other flatpanel monitors with a built-in speaker(s) currently available including the NEC EA275WMI-BK[plb_3145356_price] which is cheaper; or the Asus PG27AQ[plb_3142487_price], or the Eizo FlexScan EV2750[plb_3262622_price] which has better reviews.

Quite Wide Viewing Angle, Vertical

The narrowest viewing angle, vertical of medium monitors that were released more than a year ago is 10°, the widest is 180°, and the average viewing angle, vertical is 170°. At 178 degrees, the NEC P212 has a fairly wide viewing angle, vertical compared to most of the other PC displays that were released one year ago.

A Bit Expensive

One person who purchased the NEC P212 said that it was not good value for money. In October expert website Pcmag.com wrote “The NEC MultiSync P212 is a pricey 21 inch professional-grade monitor engineered for continuous use”.

Not Cheap

The cheapeast PC monitors of this age and type that we found costs £40 and the most expensive costs £1,920. We think that this flatpanel monitor looks expensive for a medium monitor that has been around for more than a year.

Does Not Have a Built-In Camera

The NEC P212 does not have a built-in camera. Most of the other similar spec flatpanel monitors that came out more than a year ago also do not have a built-in camera.

Like most of the other medium monitors that came out more than a year ago, the NEC P212 is not 3D.

Does Not Have a Card Reader Integrated

The NEC P212 does not have a card reader integrated, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other PC displays of a comparable age and spec to the P212 also do not have a card reader integrated.

We compared all the other PC monitors which also have a card reader integrated to this LCD screen and we think the Benq SW2700PT[plb_2982141_price] which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

At only 54 centimeters, the NEC P212 has a very small display diagonal (metric) compared to most of the other medium monitors that have been around for a similar time to the P212. Across all the similar spec LCD screens that are a comparable age to the P212 the display diagonal (metric)s range from 48cm to 89cm, and the average display diagonal (metric) is 64cm.

The NEC P212 has a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 (XGA). That's 62% less resolution than the most common supported graphics resolutions of 1920 x 1080 (HD 1080).
