Epson has good average ratings for its 15000:1 contrast ratio projectors as well as across its entire projector range compared to other brands.

Supports Full HD

Unlike most of the other similar spec multimedia projectors that were launched around the same time as the 1284 which do not support full HD, the Epson 1284 supports full HD.

Alternative projectors which support full HD currently available that you might also want to consider include because of it's better review score, the W1110 (£629.00), or the W2000 (£839.00) both from Benq.

The Epson 1284 has a maximum resolution of WUXGA (1920x1200). That's over two times the resolution of the most common projector native resolution of WXGA (1280x800).

A WUXGA (1920x1200) projector native resolution is actually the best resolution amongst all 15000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been available for a similar time to the 1284.

Amongst similar types of multimedia projector the worst resolution is XGA (1024x768).

The Epson 1284 supports a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+). That's 23% less resolution than the most common supported graphics resolutions of 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA).
