1 Reason For

Light

When compared to other multimedia projectors of this age and spec that we have assessed, the ODYS Pico's weight of only 90 grams is one of the lightest. Battery powered projectors that have been on the market for a comparable time to the Pico have weights of between 90g and 9.7kg, and the average weight is 720g.

6 Reasons Against

Quite Dim Projector Brightness

At only 20 ANSI lumens, the ODYS Pico has a quite dim projector brightness compared to most of the other projectors that have been available for more than two years. The dimmest projector brightness of comparable spec multimedia projectors that have been available for around the same time as the Pico is 12 ANSI lumens and the brightest is 5,500 ANSI lumens.

If this battery powered projector projector brightness is too dim for you then you might want to look at the Aiptek MobileCinema A50P (£177.90) (35 ANSI lumens) which also has a higher rating.

Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker(s)

Most of the other projectors of a similar type and age to the Pico have a built-in speaker(s), however the ODYS Pico does not have a built-in speaker(s).

We compared all the other multimedia projectors which also have a built-in speaker(s) to this data projector and we think the Benq GP2 which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

Does Not Support 3D

The ODYS Pico does not support 3D. Most of the other battery powered projectors that came out around the same time as the Pico also do not support 3D.

We compared this projector to all the other data projectors with a 3D and we think the Optoma DH1009 (£496.98) is also worth considering.

Does Not Support Full HD

The ODYS Pico does not support full HD, although keep in mind that most of the other comparable spec multimedia projectors that were released more than two years ago also do not support full HD.

Other projectors which also support full HD that you might also want to look at include the Philips PPX3410/EU which is also higher rated.

Does Not Support Wi-Fi

The ODYS Pico does not support wi-Fi. Most of the other projectors of this spec and age also do not support wi-Fi.

It is worth considering other projectors which also support wi-Fi including the Aiptek PocketCinema V150W which also has a higher rating.

Only NHD (640x360) Projector Native Resolution

The highest resolution of the ODYS Pico is nHD (640x360). That's 44% less resolution than the most common projector native resolution of WVGA (854x480).

An nHD (640x360) projector native resolution is in fact the worst resolution amongst all battery powered projectors that were launched around the same time as the Pico.

Amongst comparable types of data projector the best resolution is WXGA (1280x800).
