Based on 1,712 expert and user reviews, Optoma has good reviews for its multimedia projectors. Optoma also has good reviews specifically within its 3000:1 contrast ratio projectors range compared to other brands.

Good Size

One person said in their reviews that the product was lightweight. Pcmag.com said on PC Mag “The Optoma TW762 ($1,100 street) would be a fairly typical lightweight projector” in their review.

Good Product Quality

One person wrote in their reviews that it was good quality. Five years ago Pc Mag wrote on PC Mag “Although data image quality is certainly acceptable” in their Optoma TW762 review but even so they only scored the product 3 stars.

Good Picture Quality

One Optoma TW762 owner considered that the Optoma TW762 had good picture quality.

Supports 3D

The Optoma TW762 supports 3D. Most of the other 3000:1 contrast ratio projectors that came out more than two years ago do not support 3D.

There are a number of alternative projectors which support 3D currently available which you might also want to look at including the NP-M311W, or the NP-V311X both from NEC or the Optoma EX685 which has better reviews.

The Optoma TW762 has a built-in speaker(s). Most of the other data projectors of a comparable spec and age to the TW762 also have a built-in speaker(s).

We compared this projector to all the other projectors with a built-in speaker(s) and we think because of it's better review score, the Benq SH960, the Panasonic PT-VW340, and the Epson EB-1400WI is also worth considering.

Quite Bright Projector Brightness

The projector brightnesss of 3000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were launched around the same time as the TW762 range from 100 ANSI lumens to 8,000 ANSI lumens, and the average projector brightness is 3,500 ANSI lumens. At 4,000 ANSI lumens, the Optoma TW762 has a quite bright projector brightness compared to most of the other projectors that have been around for around the same time as the TW762.

We think you might also be interested in some of the other 4,000 ANSI lumens brightness data projectors currently available including the CP-WX4022 (£892.54), or the CP-X4015WN both from Hitachi or the Optoma TX762 which has better reviews.

If you would prefer a multimedia projector with a brighter projector brightness then you might also want to look at the LG BC775 (5,000 ANSI lumens and higher rated), or the Hitachi CP-WU8460 (6,000 ANSI lumens and higher rated).

The highest resolution supported by the Optoma TW762 is 1920 x 1080 (HD 1080). That's 8% more resolution than a 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) projector, which is the most common resolution supported by projectors that have been around for a comparable time to the TW762. 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) is also supported by this projector. In addition, this multimedia projector support supported graphics resolutionss of 1024 x 768 (XGA), 1280 x 1024 (SXGA), 1280 x 768 (WXGA), 1400 x 1050 (SXGA+) and 640 x 480 (VGA) and 800 x 600 (SVGA). The resolution of all 3000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were released more than two years ago ranges from 640 x 480 (VGA) to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA).
