Across all the multimedia projectors of this spec and age the projector brightnesses range from 300 ANSI lumens to 9,200 ANSI lumens, and the average projector brightness is 3,000 ANSI lumens. At only 1,700 ANSI lumen, the VPL-HW50ES/W has a fairly dim projector brightness compared to most of the other projectors that were released more than two years ago.

If you would prefer a brighter projector brightness then you might want to consider the Acer H9500BD (2,000 ANSI lumens), or the Sony VPL-VW1000ES (2,000 ANSI lumens) which also has a higher rating.
