Will have to order a eSata external cable before I can comment on the actual operation of the controller...

Easily installed and loaded drivers with no problem
I use this controller card to connect my external Seagate HDD to my system via eSATA. It works just fine

Driver install worked on Windows, recognized by Linux 2.6.18 kernel
Since it is non-functional, I can't say
Can't test it because there is NO external SATA cable included in the box, even though it is listed as having a cable
I did have some trouble getting my drive to be recognized at first. I figured out that this was a driver issue. Read below
1st off, I had to detach the controller from the chassis adapter and bend the two mounting screws brackets to make it line up with my PCI Express 1X slot, then I had to cut away some of the fiberglass
This card doesn't recognize the majority of drives. I finally got it to work with an IDE drive with attached sata adapter on WinXP. I have tried new WD, Hitachi, and a Seagate without success. What a
