Some people mentioned in their reviews that the Samsung UE40D7000 was not cheap. Cnet.com said on expert review site CNET.com “Earlier this year we called Samsung's most expensive plasma TV” in their Samsung UE40D7000 review although they gave the product a rating of 4 stars. Cnet.com also wrote “The "Best overall TV of 2011 (so far)." Now that we've tested its less expensive brother”. Avhub.com.au wrote three years ago “The relatively expensive PN 7000 cannot produce full shadow detail or proper 1080 24 cadence without sacrificing some black-level performance”.

One Samsung UE40D7000 owner wrote in their reviews that the Samsung UE40D7000 was not a bargain for the price. Expert website Itp.net wrote “While the UA55D7000LR isn’t perfect, its flaws are far from being deal breakers” nonetheless they still rated the product 80 out of 100.

One customer who purchased it considered that it was not good value for money. Expert review site Avforums.com said six years ago “We've already had extensive hands on with the, more costly, UE-40D8000 and overall we were left impressed”.
