The 40L3453 supports a 2160p supported video modes which is better than most TVs that have been available for a similar time to it. Most mid-size TVs that were released around the same time as it support a 1080p supported video modes. In addition, this Toshiba TV support 1080i, 480p, 540p, 576p and 720i and 720p supported video modess.

This television's video mode (2160p) is in fact the best supported video mode across all TVs that are a comparable age to the 40L3453.

A 480p supported video modes is the worst supported video mode amongst similar types of television.

Poor Product Quality

A number of customers who bought it said that it was not good quality. In December last year Gwenantraws mentioned “Can't fault it, picture quality is top notch” in their review of the Toshiba 40L3453. Mrs J Bryant wrote in her Toshiba 40L3453 review on Amazon “The quality isn't the same as a Sony” however despite that she scored the product 80 out of 100.

Very Slow High Frequency Rate

Across all the TVs that were launched around the same time as the 40L3453 the high frequency rates range from 50Hz to 1,600Hz. The Toshiba 40L3453 has one of the slower high frequency rates (only 50 hertz) amongst mid-size TVs of this age.

It may also be worth also looking at one of the alternative 50Hz refresh rate TVs currently available including the Samsung UE40EH5000[plb_1532379_price], or the Toshiba 32W2433[plb_2161266_price] which is cheaper.
