Has a Built-In Microphone

The Thrustmaster Link has a built-in microphone, as do most of the other low megapixel webcams that have been available for a comparable time to the Link.

Unlike most of the other webcams that are a similar age to the Link which are not full HD, the Thrustmaster Link is full HD.

Chart Edit

8 Reasons Against

Does Not Have a Motion Detector

Like most of the other webcams of this spec and age, the Thrustmaster Link does not have a motion detector.

Chart Edit

Not USB Powered

The Thrustmaster Link is not USB powered. Most of the other similar spec webcams that have been around for a comparable time to the Link are also not USB powered.

Webcams which are USB powered that might be worth considering include the MSI StarCam Clip which also has a higher rating.

Does Not Feature Face Tracking

The Thrustmaster Link does not feature face tracking. Most of the other webcams of this age and type also do not feature face tracking.

We compared this webcam to all the other webcams with a face tracking and we think the Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000 is also worth considering.

Not Mac Compatibility

Does Not Have a Zoom Capability

Most webcams of a comparable age and spec to the Link do not have a zoom capability. The Thrustmaster Link is no exception to this as it too does not have a zoom capability.

We compared all the other webcams which also have a zoom capability to this webcam and we think the Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000, or the HP KQ245AA which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

Does Not Have a Night Mode

Most low megapixel webcams that have been on the market for more than two years do not have a night mode. The Thrustmaster Link is no exception to this as it too does not have a night mode.

Webcams with a higher maximum frame rate that might also be worth considering include the Gembird CAM0360U-1 (£14.90) (60fps), or the Konig CMP-WEBCAM3D10 (£10.46) (60fps).
